IMPORTANT INFORMATION for my followers of this blog!

This is an important update for followers of My Wellbeing and Learning Journey.

After receiving an email of what it would cost next year to renew my blog on the personal plan I have it on, (unless I put a renewal in soon,) I have found the pricing will go up.
The price is a huge cost increase for a personal blog that I write just for pleasure and not for profit and so to renew the personal plan and keep my domain is just not worth it.

This blog is not a business blog and never will be, so it’s too much to pay for something I don’t earn money from. To go up to a price as it’s turned out to be is a huge increase for me, that I cannot afford, so I have cancelled my subscription. If I knew it would increase to that much, I would never have upgraded my blog in the first place and instead kept it on the free domain.

What does this mean for this blog?

Nothing straight away as of yet. You will continue to read my blog ad free. But next year, from 23rd July 2019, my blog domain expires. This means my domain will go back to the free version I had when I first started blogging,

How will it affect you?

Any followers that followed this blog from 23rd June 2018 and onwards will be affected. I gather it will affect both  email followers and those who follow via WordPress reader. Those who have followed my blog when it was originally will not be affected.

Please bookmark on your computer for future reference, or whichever device you like to view my blog from, so that you can re-follow me back later, when the domain goes back to the free domain in July.

I plan to make my free domain link primary domain, in the New Year. (Way before it expires.) This will happen on 10th January 2019. So when you visit my blog, you will find it and not

So if you followed my blog from 23rd June 2018 and want to keep following my blog after 23rd June 2019, then do make sure you re-visit and sign back up to emails, if it turns out you don’t receive updates when it has gone back to my free domain and if you are viewing my blog through WordPress reader, you can add the free domain link now to your reader, as this domain has been still available while I was using the paid version.

    1. It is. I picked personal plan because cheapest and because that’s all my blog is, personal. For me, when I originally paid, it was £36 and when I first signed up it said this would be what I pay each year. I did not mind that. But now the total cost is £58. I cannot afford this and to me, for a personal blog that make no money from it, it’s very expensive. I am very disappointed and sad that I have to go back to free domain. But I cannot afford this. This money could be better saved, or used in my personal life.

      1. I feel I have been duped. When I once owned a business website, that site was cheaper then they are now charging. I don’t like emails like they sent either, that I can avoid that price increase if I pay now. The reason I won’t do that, is that if they still do it next time, then the com domain gets aired for nothing.

    1. With me being the cheapest plan, I thought that with how I was let know of what mine was going to be, I thought the others would be costly.
My domain will be back to free one, when expired. But I will put my old domain back as primary, as mentioned in my post earlier.

    1. Yes, it will be same as before when you followed me. If I remember right, you were already following when I was on free plan, so when it goes back to that, you shouldn’t be affected and would still be following. The ones affected possibly, are the ones who have followed while it’s on the paid domain.
      Thank you for following. 🙂

  1. It’s a very steep hike as you’ve written! I will stick with WP only till my next renewal. Planning to move my site to SquareSpace. With the price hike, SquareSpace will only be slightly more expensive. And for me, SS makes more sense as it’s very easy to create a great looking site and there’s lots of customization options included in the package, which unfortunately WP doesn’t give in the basic package.

  2. Hello Liz! Wonderful blog you have here! Thank you for following mine and I am happy to follow yours too! I also am not happy with the price increase of $48 on the personal plan and now the domain fee is separate instead of included. I understand your feelings of frustration. Also, I thought that it would remove all the ads on my site which is the main reason I got it but there are still ads on there so I have to look into this further. I look forward to reading your blog! I’m grateful that we found each other. Warmest wishes to you, Roxanne 💞😊

      1. I have it in two places. At the side of my blog and also on my policies page. I have done that many awards and similar theme posts it feels it’s getting too repetitive.
