I have been at my mum’s the past two nights, as I have been painting her bedroom walls and ceiling. I go home tonight and I shall do my own thing tomorrow, which will be a day at Southwell. So while at Southwell, I will no doubt look in Southwell Minster while there too.
This morning, while needing to do a couple of things, I also needed to be in nature, to refresh. So I went to Sutton Lawn. After calling in The Rumbles cafe and a wander around this park, I had a sit back on a bench I once sat on before and just take it all in for half an hour. This photo below, I taken from this very bench I sat at, a couple of years back, which I shared in a post.
The photos below, I took today from the same spot and very near by, when I started making my way back in town.
Nature heals and I needed it this morning.

Wow, lovely pictures Liz 😊👍
Thank you. I just took these with my phone. I think the other photo from a couple of years ago was taken with a phone too. But can’t remember to be honest. 🙂
It’s been hard coming back through village; Stanton Hill, where I lived as a child, to be at my mum’s, where she lives, in Skegby. And as you know I have been this way often.
But being on Sutton Lawn, away from the village of Stanton Hill and instead in the town centre, of Sutton-in-Ashfield area is much easier than that way, while I am not in my area where I now live.
Hi Liz I am sure your mother appreciates your help and kindness. I love your photos, the scenery looks so peaceful and relaxing. Cheers from Ally 🙂
It certainly is relaxing here. As it’s been a while since I have been on now not living local there, I could see some things done that were an improvement for the park. This is one part of my old local area I don’t mind coming back to, because it is so relaxing. I so needed it this morning. 🙂
yes! nature does heal and your pictures even brought me a sense of calm.
I can certainly look at these pictures and still feel the calm afterwards too. I’m glad to hear you felt the sense of calm from them too.
I sure did, thank you for sharing.
Beautiful escape you have there. Very nice post with a wonderful and healing message to all. I especially love your last image!
It is a beautiful place to go, in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area. There are more beautiful places, but it’s only this one I would go back to when in the area.
That last image I have tried to take with a camera before, but couldn’t achieve what I wanted, which was as how I seen it. Taking it with my camera’s phone, I achieved that today.
I wanted to create this post today as a reminder how nature can heal us at difficult times. It’s free and yet it does so much good. 🙂
Hugging or even leaning up against a tree will increase that healing experience. Trees love it when humans touch them.
Your pictures did tell a beautiful story.
Been close and touched a tree, or sat under a tree, but I’ve never hugged, but can imagine the healing from hugging a tree. Glad you liked the post with the pictures. X
It looks peaceful.
It certainly feels peaceful. Even when you see people about, it still feels peaceful.
It looks like a lovely park to sit in and relax.
It is. 🙂
Beautiful, just what you needed – nature really can be so refreshing, grounding & nourishing 🙂
xx
Yes, it certainly can be. 🙂
Beautiful pictures. Nature is wonderful, I always feel much better when I’m out in nature. 🙂
Thank you. Yes, being out in nature never fails me. 🙂
PS. Liz – I have in my diary (because my memory is awful) that it’s your birthday today, did I get the right day?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! ♥🌷
xxxx
You did. Thank you. Xx
Wow stunning pictures..
and yes as the title says Nature always heals..
Thank you. 🙂
Liz, these pictures as gorgeous as they are, I’m sure they don’t it justice as to sit on a bench and take in all that scenery around you. A really stunning and serene place to go and unwind. Good for you!
Thank you. It feels very relaxing in the majority of the park. But love being under the canopy of the trees there, near the lake.
I have a park near me that makes me feel at peace too. Sitting by the lake and little waterfalls and listening to breeze move the leaves it he trees… No other feeling like that. I also love watching the squirells run about. I always brings them nuts when I go there.
I would enjoy it there. I love watching squirrels. 🙂
Oh, then you would love that park. It’s like a carnival act they put on. LOL!
I can watch them all day.
I think I may have to do this, this weekend. LOL! 😁🐿
😊 Enjoy.
I fully agree. A beautiful nature — trees, flowers, heals me as well. It just lights up my mood.
Hi and thank you for commenting. Glad to hear being out in nature helps you too.
Yes, it does! Happy Weekend, Sweetie! ♥️
Happy weekend to you. 😊
