Post update on mum and things

After last week’s crisis with my mum, things have been better since. Mum is feeling more better since. She still looks tired though.

Mum had last night on her own at home, as I went back home. But after I finished my shift, I sent my mum a reminder text for the cheesecake and then we were having a joking banter via text about it. 😁

Mum is now at mine this morning and stopping the night, so we will be doing things together in some way, or individually in my home. Or just simply a bit of quietness at times.
I have already been reading to mum some Friday Fibbing posts this morning and my mum was joining in giving some of her own answers. 😊 So you may see answers from my mum here, as well as what I can give answers to.
If this does happen, then my Friday Fibbing posts could be a couple of days late, so I can include my mum’s answers. But I am going to try and do Friday Fibbing each week.

You will know if you were reading comments in “After the night before,” that after contacting my landlord and explaining my situation, he is allowing me to break my contract early. As long as I give a month’s notice and allow letting agents in to show possible new tennant’s around, he’s fine. So I now start looking at council properties each week and bid on anything suitable.
There is nothing this week, so it’s see what is going next week. Mum is clearing out her sideboard and some drawers  that are amongst items to donate to charity later.

With regards to HMRC, Working Tax Credit people, you may remember a while back how when I wasn’t going to let my complaint drop, just because they paid me a little compensation, because their reply just created even further questions, I wanted answering. So as you know, the caseworker on behalf of my MP sent that further complaint to them and they said they would escalate that complaint to their complaint department. Well, I am still waiting, so as usual, they are no better replying. It’s been way over a month. I have reminded the caseworker that I am still needing a response to this and also further explanation to further money they have put into my bank account. But nothing to know why they have gave this. I just want answers in a reasonable time frame that HMRC/WTC are STILL failing to do. I need it in black and white.

My new cleaning job, that you know I got, I start Monday.

  1. So glad it is better news about your mum Liz. I really hope you have a lovely weekend together. I hope you find a new place to live soon as well. Good that your mum can join in Fibbing Friday. It’s nice to have a bit of fun. It’s really hot at the moment isn’t it. We have all our windows open but it’s still hot. Have a lively day Liz, and good luck for Monday ❤️❤️❤️ Please give my love to your mum xxx

    1. I have had my large window open since 5.40am and I can tell in last hour it’s getting hotter.
We are going on my favourite park soon and pop in the cafe while there. The park will bring some childhood memories back for her. Xx

    1. Yes. Mum was coming out with some good funny answers. Laughing her head off that much at one point, I couldn’t work out what she was saying.

  2. Things are getting exciting over your way! Happy for you and your mum’s, soon-to-be new life. What fun the two of you will have. Maybe….maybe your mum will start her own blog. I mean, your blog has helped you so very much….and you would be there to help her with the technical details. Or maybe, you will generate a daughter/mother blog……life’s possibilities are endless.

    1. I doubt mum will write her own blog, because mum doesn’t like, or have her own internet. But I bet there could be a bit of participating here, on mine, starting with Fibbing Friday. 😊

      1. Yes. Mum is definitely into joining in with me on Fibbing Friday, after introducing it to her. I did not have to persuade much at all.
Only concern mum had, was that if she couldn’t answer them all. I said answer what you can, cos I may not be able to answer all either. Just do what you can, that comes to mind.
Fibbing Friday may happen late on my blog by a day, or two, but it’s definitely happening.
After this, you never know what else it may lead to. 😊

      2. You are such a cool daughter. Your mum should be proud of herself, for having you.

I sure do look forward to Fibbing Friday/Anyday and have stocked up on popcorn for the events. 😀

    1. Yes, it was great for my landlord to do this. Hopefully, it won’t take long to find something suitable and if I bid on anything suitable, be lucky to get it.
Sorry I have not aired and replied back sooner. I just seen your comment now under pending. Usually I notice new comments under notifications, but yours and another did not show there and I only just happen to spot there were comments waiting under pending, as I was checking on spam box.

I am looking forward to my mum joining in with this. I did not need to persuade. Mum was all for it when I asked if she would like to join in future ones. 😊

      1. Yes, it’s first time I have missed conversations under my notifications. I never seen yours there and another commenter on the same day for another post. I just happened to see 2 under pending on the drop down menu, as I was checking spam.

      1. Well it certainly isn’t. Mum coming and stopping at mine again Friday night. So by the time we have worked on our answers for Fibbing Friday, it will probably be Saturday before it’s typed up and aired. 😊

      2. I just realised with plans I nearly forgot about Saturday, that I made a fortnight ago, means mum wouldn’t be able to stop over Friday night. But I have worked out how we will still do our Fibbing Friday. All being well, by Saturday night it will air, otherwise Sunday afternoon latest.
Thank goodness for planners to keep me in order. I would have left someone in the lurch.

  3. Good news on the landlord side of things, it’s good he’s being reasonable and flexible. As for the HMRC, well, they’re notoriously crap and this just shows how little they care when they need to explain themselves, yet they’re quick on the heels if your average Joe owes money or whatever. I hope you hear from them soon; did the caseworker suggest anything when you reminded them?
Will also keep my fingers crossed some properties come up for you to bid on next week.
Wishing you all the very best for the new job on Monday, Liz xxxx

    1. Yes, good news on the landlord side of things, now it’s just a matter of finding a suitable property.
It’s the caseworker that’s been writing on my behalf, with them getting party somewhere, so this was why I contacted her to see if she and the MP heard anything. I will contact her after a week, if I hear nothing more and I will ask who in Parliament can I take this further to. I have not had satisfactory answers, as they only lead to more questions, which they still fail to answer. Yet, as you say and I have mentioned, if it was the other way round, they would want a quick response, yet I don’t hear my answers within the month. It’s not good enough.

I am looking forward to starting in the morning, to get any pre-nerves out the way and to see properly what is in my cleaning cupboard, as well as a couple of questions I need to ask my line manager. He is doing my induction, so I will be able to ask him then.

Thank you for your wishes. Xx
