So as you know, I am waiting for counselling on the NHS after my difficulties of this year, messing with my own mental health. I have already been waiting over 2 months for my assessment. (I thought it was getting on 3 months.)

Via a programme that I automatically have access to, as part of me being an employee with my evening job, counselling services is one of them.
I started wondering that if I contacted them, would I possibly get in quicker? So I queried. It turns out I would, because as soon as I have filled in my assesment form, they will source a counsellor within 10 working days.
So I have filled in my form and sent it back in an email today.

  1. Oh wow, that’s amazing! It’s awful how long the wait is for the already struggling NHS counselling services. Too many people waiting considerable lengths of time when they need the help and support the most. I’m so glad you enquired with your work’s counselling service – fingers crossed it goes smoothly and you get to see someone you can get along with.
    Caz xx

    1. Yes, it’s struggling and not surprising with it being more in the limelight of people sharing their struggles.

Because of me putting on the assessment form that I have been suicidal, I heard from a counsellor via a text tonight. He needed to ask more questions and check that I would be safe tonight.
I have been given a couple of places to turn to, should I need it, that I wasn’t aware of. One via the programne I first contacted on their website and another a text elsrwhere that exists, that I can also use. X

      1. We are all always here too, Liz. I know it may not be much, but you have people here to like me that really care about you. I’m glad you were contacted by the counsellor, it shows they’re at least reading the forms and taking notice. Hang in there. Sending lots of love xxxx
